Cheese and potato pie (V) served with baked beans
Why we chose this dish
Our Dietitian’s Choice
"This comforting dish has been chosen by one of our cooks to make a come – back as her son reported that this was his all-time favourite dish when he attended school. Made with mash, onions and mild Welsh Cheddar, this dish contributes significantly to energy, to sustain our pupils for the afternoon, and calcium for strong bones and teeth. Baked beans, as well as being firm favourites with our pupils, contribute to the iron content of this dish. And our baked beans are always of the reduced sugar and salt variety. We are hoping this dish will be a hit for the new generation of pupils trying it.”
