Traveller Education Service

Torfaen Traveller Education Service provides school-based support to assist Gypsy Roma Traveller pupils and their schools.  

The support includes:  

• Working with families and nurseries to support children in early years education
• Supporting their transition to schools 
• Working with small groups or individuals within schools 
• Developing appropriate learning routes for pupils in Years 10 and 11 and in further education
• Providing resources that reflect the Traveller culture
• Raising awareness of Gypsy Traveller culture and lifestyle
• Mentoring support
