Recycling and waste strategy 2025-2030
The recycling and waste strategy sets out how we aim to achieve 70% recycling by:
- Improving recycling services – this includes expanding the service to flats that currently don’t have a kerbside service
- Increasing recycling – this includes increasing the range of materials that can be recycled at the kerbside, including small electrical items in 2025 and plastic film from 2027
- Improving infrastructure to increase the variety of materials that can be recycled
- Ensuring compliant business recycling services in include additional materials from 2026
- Promoting waste reduction and reuse
- Decarbonising the service
The strategy also includes a Customer Charter, which sets out the standard of service that customers can expect us to provide in relation to your waste and recycling collections.
Raise the Rate
We’re committed to encouraging residents to reduce, reuse, recycle and dispose of their waste correctly.
The Recycling and Waste Strategy sets out how residents can help the service, including:
- Putting your recycling and purple-lidded bin out by 6am on your collection day
- Taking your containers back in after collection. Find out what goes in which container
- Not reporting a missed collection until after 4pm
- Making sure you have put the correct items in the correct bags and boxes
If you need to report an issue with your recycling and waste collections, please visit the Report It section of the website or call customer services on 01495 762200.
