Active Travel in Torfaen

Cycle Routes

Active travel means walking and cycling (including the use of mobility scooters) for everyday journeys.

This includes journeys to school, to work, to the shops or to access services for example, health or leisure centres. Active travel does not include walking and cycling for recreational or social reasons.

Local authorities have a legal requirement to map and plan suitable routes for active travel.

You can use the Torfaen map to see walking, cycling and walking and cycling routes, as well as infrastructure including crossings, toilet facilities and bike parking and future routes.
