Low-Cost Adaptation Grants
Grants are available from Torfaen Council for adaptations costing between £1,000 and £8,000, following an occupational health referral by social services.
Disabled Facilities Grants
Means tested grants of between £8,000 and £36,000. There is no means test for work costing under £8,000 or if the adaptation is for a disabled child.
A DFG may cover the cost of a major adaptation in part or whole up to £36,000.
Housing association tenants should approach their landlord in the first instance.
To apply, you must contact Torfaen Council and request an assessment by an Occupational Therapist who can initiate the grant application process. For more information, contact 01495 762200.
