Estyn inspectors have praised high standards at Blenheim Road Community and Coed Eva primary schools.
The schools, in Cwmbran, which became federated in 2016, share an executive headteacher and governing body.
In a report published this week, the school's inspectorate said the unified leadership approach had resulted in high standards at both schools, especially for pupils with additional learning needs.
The report said the curriculum was "broad, balanced, and purposeful" and pupils have opportunities to develop socially thanks to strong links with the local community.
Inspectors also praised the relationships between staff and pupils, adding that at both schools "provision for pupil and family well-being is an outstanding feature".
Executive Headteacher Paul Keane said: "We’re delighted that these inspection results provide a springboard for our two schools in our mission to keep changing our community and country for the better.
"Our children, our families, our staff and this unique patch of Wales here in Cwmbran deserve the very best. It is our privilege to serve them, and to reflect the immense pride we all feel in this community and in our learning."
In 2023, the Federation of Blenheim Road Community and Coed Eva Pimary Schools was given a Heart of the Community award by the Foundation of Community Engagement, a charity that supports schools in building effective partnerships with parents and carers.
Cllr Richard Clark, Executive Member for Children, Families and Education, said: "I'd like to congratulate the federated executive leadership team and both Head of Schools for their collaborative approach, which is helping pupils and families to thrive."
The inspections were carried out in November. The reports recommended both schools improve pupils writing and numeracy skills.
They also advised Blenheim Road Community Primary School address inconsistencies with teaching and assessment to ensure pupils have increased ownership of their learning, and Coed Eva Primary School improves the quality and consistency of pupil feedback.
