Wednesday and Thursday - 9.30am - 12.30pm
What kind of items can I take to be fixed?
Any small item you are about to carry such as a vacuum cleaner, toaster, kettle, ornaments, wooden ornaments, games etc.
Are you looking for volunteers?
Yes, Wastesavers who run the café in partnership with Torfaen County Borough Council are always looking for volunteers. Contact Ian Pearce on 01633 281287 if you are interested.
What sort of prices are typical?
All items that are fixable can be fixed for free. However, there may be instances where a part needs to be bought by a resident so the team can fix their items. Advice is given as to whether it is financially viable to buy any parts required.
Who is in charge of the café?
The shop is run by Wastesavers in partnership with Torfaen County Borough Council.
Can I drop stuff off directly to the café?
Yes you can, however, staff do prefer residents to wait whilst they assess the item first. If they think it can be fixed residents can leave their item, but if the items can’t be fixed the resident can take it away for recycling.
Can I walk to the café?
The café is located in the centre of Pontypool town centre so residents can walk to the indoor market if they live local, use public transport or drive to visit the café.
Is there disabled access to the shop?
Yes, there is disabled access and parking.
