The UK Parliamentary Election will be held on Thursday 4 July.
If you aren't registered to vote, you have until midnight on Tuesday 18 June to register. Register to vote
If you are already registered, you don't need to register again. To check if you are registered, call our Elections Team on 01495 762200.
You must be 18 to vote in UK parliamentary elections.
Like the Police and Crime Commissioner elections last month, voters will need to show photo ID at polling stations.
If you don't have an acceptable form of ID, you can apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate online. Help is available at your local library.
You must apply by 5pm on Wednesday 26 June to receive your certificate in time for the election.
Certificates last 10 years, so if you applied for one to vote in the PCC election, you can use the same certificate for the Parliamentary Election.

You have until 5pm on Wednesday 19 June to apply for a postal vote.
Postal voters will start to receive their ballot papers from Thursday 20 June.
If you vote by post, the rules around handing them into council offices have changed.
You can now hand in a maximum of six postal votes, including your own, to council buildings and you must complete a Return of Postal Voting Documents form.
Any postal votes posted through council building letterboxes or left at council buildings without the form being completed will be rejected.

If you need to apply for a proxy vote, the deadline is 5pm on Wednesday 26 June.
If you have a sudden change of circumstance after the deadline, such as an accident or illness, you can apply for an emergency proxy until 5pm on polling day. For more information, contact the Elections Team on 01495 762200.
The changes in voting only apply to UK parliamentary and Police and Crime Commissioner elections. Voters will not need to show voter ID to vote in Senedd or local government elections in Wales.
