Gain confidence in basic number skills including the use of fractions, decimals and percentages. Learn how to use the metric system for DIY projects, interpret graphs and tables, and understand and use basic financial information.

Learn how to use a computer, laptop or tablet effectively. Whether you are a complete beginner or want to improve your digital skills, our courses will help you to make the most of the technology and stay safe online. Unleash your creativity!

Prepare for GCSE

Are you considering sitting GCSE Maths or English in the future but don’t feel quite ready? Our 38 week courses will cover the skills required to access GCSE in the future.

ESOL - English for Speakers of Other Languages

These courses meet the needs of people whose first language is other than English. Classes are available for complete beginners and for those who wish to develop their English and learn about life in the UK. Improve confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing. Learn in small, friendly groups through a variety of engaging activities such as group discussions, language games, puzzles and role play.

ILS - Independent Living Skills

Torfaen Adult Community Learning offers courses for adults with a range of learning disabilities and difficulties. ILS courses are designed to develop core skills such as confidence, communication, social skills and skills to living independently. Learning takes place in small groups in a fun and friendly environment.

Family History - Find your family

Learn how to research and trace your family history using online services.

Digital Literacy

Why not join one of Torfaen Adult Community Learning’s FREE online digital literacy classes?  They will help you learn how to:

• Use Microsoft Office and Google apps which are widely used by employers.
• Search the internet to find job vacancies plus hints and tips on how to get that job offer.
• Interact with others whilst staying safe online.
• Communicate with employers and collaborate with other job hunters.
• Apply for work with professionally-produced emails or application forms.
