If properly used and managed, Rights of Way can provide access to Torfaen countryside, without causing disruption to the working or natural environment, and help improve the quality of life. If public routes, stiles and gates are kept clear and are well waymarked the public have no excuse to stray off the line of the path or to climb through hedges or over fences or walls.

The Access Team can help you to identify and manage any Public Rights of Way that may affect your property and help and advise you on any other access issues

We can tell you if there are any recorded rights of way on your land where they run, and provide advice on your rights and responsibilities. This includes the possibility of making changes to current Rights of Way or offering guidance on how to protect your land from future claims to register new Rights of Way.
