Severe Weather

Severe weather such as storms, floods, snowfall and extremes of temperatures can put lives at risk and disrupt transportation and local services.

For information on any current weather warnings and forecasts visit the Met Office website.

For health advice in regard to all types of severe weather see Weather and Health - Public Health Wales

Transportation & Roads

During severe weather, roads can become blocked and public transportation can be limited.  Torfaen County Borough Council co-ordinates the clearing of roads in the borough and tries to keep the primary routes open as a priority.  Residential and minor roads may remain unclear so care is advised if travelling during severe weather.

Advice on any road closures or restrictions to public transport will be broadcast on your local radio stations and you may be advised to leave your car at home.  Follow any emergency service advice to avoid travelling if warnings are in place.
