Preventing terrorism
Our Community Safety Team works in partnership with statutory and voluntary organisations to prevent terrorism through the UK Counter Terrorism Strategy, known as CONTEST.
The CONTEST strategy has four key elements:
- Pursue – to stop terrorist attacks
- Prevent – to stop people becoming terrorists or supporting violent extremism
- Protect – to strengthen our protection against terrorist attack
- Prepare – where an attack cannot be stopped, to mitigate its impact
If you have concerns about an immediate terror threat, call 999.
If you have seen or heard something that could suggest a terrorist threat to the UK, contact the Anti-Terrorism Hotline on 0800 789 321 or visit the Counter Terrorism Policing website.
You can also anonymously refer terrorist-internet based by completing a Counter Terrorism Wales Prevent Referral Form
