Torfaen Residents Survey 2019

Our latest residents' survey was undertaken between July and September 2019, of which, a total of 1659 responses were received.

Whether it's investing more into making the borough cleaner and greener, supporting vulnerable people in the community or improving the standards in our schools, we're committed to making Torfaen a better place for our residents.  And with budgets under more and more pressure it's really important we understand what people's experiences and expectations are from their local council.

We always get told that surveys don't matter or nothing happens as a result of what we're told but that's not the case.  The results of the residents survey is used to help inform decisions we take and enables us to judge whether our services are meeting people's expectations.

The responses have been analysed for the local authority as a whole. We have also compared the 2019 results against the 2018 and 2017 residents' survey to show an changes over time. All results have been weighted by age and gender.

Each bar also shows a grey shaded confidence interval; this is the error margin of being 95% confident that the representative results are within this range. The page also shows the analysis of traffic issues in Torfaen across the three survey years. This question asked residents to select the three main issues affecting travel and transport in Torfaen. The top three issues are shown as red bars.  Hovering your mouse pointer over the bars will show the results and rank; a rank of 1 is the highest scored issue, whereas a rank of 11 is the lowest scored issue.
