The new civic centre - floor by floor

Ground floor - Customer Services

This is where you will find the reception area and the Customer Services Team. The space is designed with a feature wall and meeting rooms for public facing meetings. Access is controlled, so only staff with access cards will be able to move through reception to other parts of the building. Two iPads are provided for staff and visitors to sign in. Signing out should be done each time someone leaves the building to ensure accurate records in case of an emergency. Instructions on how to sign in are available here.

1st floor - meeting rooms

Here you will find committee room 1, 2 and 3 plus smaller meeting rooms for 6 people.  This is also the designated members working area.  All the meeting rooms are equipped to facilitate hybrid meetings.

2nd floor - hot desks and storage

This is the storage area, where required, teams will have an area to store items and confidential information.  The 2nd floor is also home to the MASSH Team. In the open plan area there are bookable desks, a few of which will be reserved for staff who are not able to work from home. There is also a quiet room with 10 desks. There are three meeting rooms on this floor equipped to facilitate hybrid meetings. Finally, there is a cafeteria area for use at any time.

3rd floor - agile working

In the larger section of the floor you will find a selection of informal meeting spaces for up to 12 people as well as a cafeteria.  There are a further 6 meeting rooms in this section, as well as 3 soundproof booths for Teams calls or meetings.  In the smaller section of this floor, you will also find a further 2 meeting rooms and “The Cwtch” which is a creative workshop area with a large writeable white wall and projection screen. 4th floor - conference and training and cafeteria

In the larger section of this floor, we have the conference facility, which can be divided into 2 or 3 smaller spaces using bi-folding doors.  The facility has a large screen with the technology and audio enhancements available.  You can create a variety of room layouts for multiple functional use. Opposite to the conference space there is also a storage facility with additional chairs to accommodate larger meetings.

There are 2 smaller meeting rooms as well as a training room, all kitted out with the technology to provide a fully interactive training facility for staff.  This section also has the largest of our cafeteria area, great for catch-ups in a more relaxed and informal setting.

A first aid room for emergencies and recovery, and a reflection room to enable staff to use for multiple purposes including religious prayers, self-reflection and other needs as deemed appropriate.

In the smaller section of the floor there is the 18-person boardroom and a further 3 meeting rooms for up to 8 people each.
