To celebrate Foster Care Fortnight 2022, Torfaen Council is running a sunflower themed fostering competition for local children to get creatively involved in.
Any child between the ages of 4 and 11 can submit a design and will be in with a chance of winning a voucher for coming first, second or third place.
Sunflowers represents how foster carers can nurture a child looked after so that they can flourish and grow to full potential.
Children can get as creative as they like with paint, crayon, or pencils - there is no limit on the design.
This year's Foster Care Fortnight theme is #FosteringCommunities, which celebrates the strength and resilience of fostering communities and all they do to ensure children are cared for and supported to thrive.
It hopes to shine a light on the many ways people in the fostering community have supported each other during the Covid-19 pandemic – and to highlight the need for more dedicated foster carers.
The closing date for competition entries is Sunday 22 May 2022. All designs must be sent to SS_CHFP@torfaen.gov.uk and include name and age of the child, as well as contact details for who should be notified if they are a winner!
Foster Care Fortnight© is the UK’s biggest foster care awareness raising campaign, delivered by leading fostering charity, The Fostering Network.
