Introduction to using an electric sewing machine

• Develop an understanding of the different functions of the domestic sewing machine.
• Using templates as a guide, practise to correctly use and control sewing machine.
• Change needle.
• Wind bobbin and correctly thread sewing machine.
• Experiment with different stitches and stitch settings.
• Learn and practise a variety of seam finishes and techniques suitable for basic garment construction. 

There are machines for use in class or if any learner would like to bring their own machine, it will need to be PAT tested, if not already tested this can be arranged on the day prior to class the fee is £5

Materials

Learners will need to bring a basic sewing kit comprising; pins / tape measure / small thread scissors / fabric scissors and paper scissors / pencil / ruler.

If you don’t have all the above there is a limited supply that can be used in the class.
