A classic dessert with a nutritious twist, our Chocolate Arctic Roll combines smooth ice cream and light chocolate-flavoured sponge for a delicious treat that pupils love. The sponge layer helps provide additional nutrients, including iron and zinc, while the dairy content contributes calcium to support strong bones and healthy teeth.
Served with a portion of juicy mandarins, this dessert also contributes towards your child's 5-a-day, providing Vitamin C and adding a refreshing burst of natural sweetness.
To create the rich chocolate flavour pupils enjoy, we use cocoa powder rather than chocolate confectionery, delivering all the taste without unnecessary extras. As with all of our school desserts, recipes are carefully planned to meet Welsh Government school food standards, ensuring a balanced approach to calories, fat, saturated fat and sugar.

Reducing Single-Use Plastic and Increasing Recycling
As part of our commitment to reducing packaging waste, this Arctic Roll is supplied in cardboard packaging, helping to reduce the amount of plastic used across our catering service. The packaging can then be recycled through appropriate waste streams, alongside many of the other packaging materials used within our school meals service.
By selecting products with lower-impact packaging and supporting recycling wherever possible, we are taking practical steps to reduce waste and improve the sustainability of our food service.
